I would like to introduce myself. My name is Salwa. I’m from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I have 3 siblings, I have two brothers, one sister and I’m the oldest one. I’m supposed to be in fourth year in university. However, I took two years off from school in the past to come here in the U.S. to complete my studies. When I came to the United States I had a wretched and choking feeling about it. But indeed, I’ve overcome this feeling. Moreover, I realized that the U.S. is beneficial for me and for other people for studying and working. For example, Educational assistance, and self-employment assistance. The government offers unemployed workers the opportunity to create their own jobs. Also, the government offers people who have a financial difficulty to find education and new opportunities, and they help them with education costs. In addition, an important event in my life was when I came here. It was a turning point in my life. I settled in a new house, and I met a new friend, a new community, and culture. Overall, my first goal is to complete my studying and be fluent in the English language. Living in another country teaches us about the another culture and community.
