I’ve been trying to act normal toward all of this, but I can’t. My dream of studying in the USA isn’t safe anymore. When president Trump was elected to the presidency, my mom became afraid of the idea that I might lose my future at any point of time in the near future. She told me not to study here and that I should go back to Saudi Arabia and finish my degree as an accountant. She is concerned that as a Muslim I might get kicked out of the USA and then lose both my degree back home and here. I know she is overreacting a little, but still there is a good chance that might happen. I decided that I’ll obey her so I’ll go back soon. No one knows, I might someday be able to pursue my Master’s degree in the United States of America.

  1. Dear Aziz,
I’ve known you for almost a year now, when you started in our very first level. I’m proud of you for all the progress you’ve made in such a short time. Congrats! I’m glad you’ve decided to follow your mother’s advice and make her happy. I’ll miss you, but I have no doubt in my mind that you will be able to make your dream come true one step at a time. Keep in touch, please.
