Kindness is something deep in your heart that makes you want to help someone or do something good, to spread happiness, and sometimes without any goals or reasons. It is supposed to be natural feelings which every human has. Kindness is not only between humans but also animals. I think we can’t live without kindness; we can’t see that hungry bird outside without living some food for it to eat or dish with water on your balcony. However, we don’t need to be related to do good things. We can be kind to a person we have never met before. Kindness is something beautiful with beautiful resultes.
A dream is something everyone should have to keep moving forward and developing themselves. Dreams are very personal; each person has a different dream. It’s about what you want to achieve in your life and how you want to see yourself in the future, after 10 years from now, for example. However, it’s very important to keep your dreams in front of your eyes, not to forget them and never give up, because dreams are like a big mountain to climb; if you want to look at the distance, it’s a challenge. You need the enthusiasm to make it true. My dream is to be an artist and it doesn’t matter if I already studied other field such as business because I don’t have only one interest. What I want to do for the rest of my life is to draw, and I can work on business at the same time.
Challenges are what makes you stronger and keeps you improving yourself. Different challenges have different results in different people. A challenge can change your life for the better or the worse; it depends on how you deal with it. However, we all understand that life isn’t always a piece of cake! in any case, we’ll always learn from our challenges. Well, some people will challenge themselves and choose to face a challenge to gain experience. For example, I challenged myself to draw every day a different idea or subject. I wanted to see what I could draw, and I found a post on Instagram that had ideas for 30 days, “that will help me a lot!”, I thought, and it did! but it was hard, and it took time. I’m not sure but I think I finished two weeks before the challenge ended, then I stopped. It was a great experiment, I discovered my abilities and I enjoyed watching my skills evolve.
Going on a field trip with your class mates and your professors is a fun and enjoyable thing. You are going to talk about different things and subjects out of the study subjects, and that will help you to know your professors better. At the same time, you can learn new words and improve your language. Also, what a great thing to get a long workout with your friends and your professors, and enjoy new places to see! Just like what we did at Virginia Tech last week; it was such a beautiful trip and a good way to practice English. We visited the World War II Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. We saw the Washington Monument, we walked next to the Reflecting Pool. Finally, we saw the cherry blossoms.
I like watching drama movies and sometime I enjoy watching children movies such as Moana and The Jungle Book these movies make me feel happy. However, my favorite one is Still Alice, it’s the most heartbreaking movie that I watched. Alice is a Professor, happily married, with three grown children. All that begins to change when she strangely starts to forget words and then more. When her doctor diagnoses her with Early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, Alice and her family faced a harrowing challenge. The hardest part is when she learn that her grown children might have this disease in the future.
My name is Sumiyah, I’m from Saudi Arabia. I’m the oldest one in my family. I love to draw and I can spend a lot of time drawing because I really enjoy doing that. I’m a person how likes to try new things. I love to walk in the park where I can see a lot of trees. I have an American friend whom I see every week; she’s so nice. When I moved to US, my husband and I were looking for a new place to visit, we went to a garden maze which was a small one, but we got lost in it. It was fun and a good day. And now we’re looking for a stable. I’m planing to try horseback riding with my American friend. Wish me luck!
